So with major concern towards the environment, changes are happening to the motoring public. The promotion of hybrid cars, electric cars, fuel efficient petrol and diesel cars as well as eco-friendly supercars. But say you still think that motorcars are what’s causing global warming and you’d like to contribute less towards this. What could be done about it aside from walking more, taking the train, buying or converting your car to run on NGV, buy a hybrid, drive like Mother Theresa or just stay home and not go out?

You could buy a horse. A thoroughbred race horse from the turf club that is about to be pensioned off is a good choice. It may be cheap to buy and maintain unless he’s a prize winning horse like Seabiscuit whereby his sperm could make fast baby racehorses and therefore make it rather expensive. Find one that always loses, learn horseback riding as a horse carriage would be considered as a trailer and you may need to license it if necessary, of course.

So you trot your way to work. If you live in an apartment, you could park the horse at the grassy patch near the entrance of the apartment and let it graze and eat grass there. Then later at night, I’d bring that horse to the apartment carpark which I’ve paid for and have it converted into a stable. I think it’s a foolproof plan if you’re traveling alone or with a friend. The costs would be very little and you’ll be kind to the environment as the only greenhouse gas the transport (horse) will produce if some methane when it farts or passes motion. If it gets sick and outlives its usefulness, you could always be the John Wayne you wanted to be and shoot the horse like cowboys do.

Of course the horse is just a radical thought that will never see the light of day. It would be simpler to ride a bicycle rather than do what I’ve said above. Add the quite strenuous fact that you have to climb quite a bit to reach the saddle makes it a chore. To me at least.
Riding a bicycle is a good eco-friendly option. No fossil fuels are burnt and you will be fit and healthy too. But you’re definitely not going to pedal from East to West for your daily commute as if you were unfit in the first place, you may end up with a cardiac arrest. So where’s the motoring part of it if I were to talk to you about cycling, some may ask.

This brings us to commuting on a motorcycle. A motorcycle is a motorized bicycle if you wanted to keep the explanation simple. It is most of the time a cheap and efficient means of transport. A commute on a motorcycle would mean that you don’t take up so much road space and you’ve bought yourself a vehicle that does not use much raw material compared to a car. This means that you’ve already made an environmental friendly practice by buying a motorcycle and using it. Unless it’s a two-stroke motorcycle that is, which is polluting to the environment due to its designs using the total-loss lubrication method, with the lubricating oil being burnt in the combustion chamber, causing “blue smoke” and other types of exhaust pollution.

So a good four-stroke engined motorcycle is the bike you want to be seen on if you want to be regarded as an eco-friendly person. Buy one with good power to weight ratio and you will have speed, power, great fuel economy and less CO2 emissions than average car. This does not mean that you should buy a Ducati Monster over a Honda Cub as the Honda does its job pretty well too, and is an automotive icon on its own as well. You also save time and fuel as you don’t sit in a traffic jam as you do not get stuck behind another car.

Actually I am suggesting that everyone starts riding a motorcycle to work so that the roads are free of traffic jams. Free of jams so that yours truly may use his car peacefully. I tried riding a bike before and I had very bad coordination in trying to change gears with my foot and use the hand clutch. I kept thinking why can’t a bike have a gearshift that you could use your thumb to change gears or a DSG type transmission so I can just focus on the riding much better and avoid myself getting killed.

The Graco SnugRide with EPS baby car seat is very popular in the market and is regarded as one of the best car seats for babies. It is highly regarded as number one in safety and its feature for mobility also gives you more convenience options as to where you want to take your newborn. SnugRide is US’s favorite baby car seat according to US’s leading consumer magazines.

At last, it is effortless to stroll the baby while on the go with the Graco SnugRider Baby Car Seat Stroller. Its model is smooth, lightweight and cost-effective, making this stroller frame an ultimate choice for parents who want the ease of a stroller minus the size and high cost of a full fledged compatible stroller. This buggy can be used by infants who fit the car seat manufacturer’s size recommendations. It is also especially perfect for a new baby who is incapable to sit up without help and not fully grown yet to be able to fit in an umbrella-style buggy. There are two features that distinguish the Graco SnugRide from other models.

Convenience

This tremendously lightweight yet tough buggy frame easily locks the car seat into place. This step is to ensure that the toddler is ready to roll out in the shortest time possible. An extra-large storage space basket means you now have more space to keep all your gears, either you’re in a picnic at the recreational area or window-shopping at the mall. There are also some spaces for two mug holders at the handle, providing a handy place for your drinks and cell phone.

Maneuverability

Along with its lightweight design, the stroller includes a number of features that make it more user-friendly. With the height-adjustable handle, you do not need to kneel down to adjust the heights. Secondly, the front swivel wheels with locks and suspension present superior maneuverability and power. After you have finished your walk, the stroller has an mechanical storage latch that helps you to fold up. It is compact and does not take up a lot of space, making it easy in terms of portability.

Mobile electronics are an affordable, easy way to add the latest technology to your car or truck. Don’t buy a new vehicle just to get car GPS or iPod integration–visit your local car audio shop for the equipment you need to take your existing ride to the next level.

Are you envious of your best friend’s new car and its awesome mobile video system? Do you love your reliable daily driver but dream of the convenience of a car GPS system? When you’re looking for the latest features and options for your car or truck, why not upgrade your existing vehicle instead of shelling out for a completely new ride? If your vehicle is in good condition, there’s no reason to trade it in just for a navigation system or car audio upgrade! Aftermarket car electronics offer an affordable, effective way to get the little luxuries you want without the huge price tag of a whole new car!

Today’s technology can make driving both easier and more fun, so it’s no wonder that drivers are opting for factory features like in-dash navigation systems, built-in iPod integration, and car DVD players. However, factory installation isn’t the only way to get the latest technology in your car or truck. Most car audio shops offer sales and installation on a wide range of mobile electronics equipment. These car GPS, mobile audio, and car video systems provide the same great performance as OEM products, but you don’t have to purchase a new car to get them. Instead your area car electronics installers can add them to your existing vehicle for a fraction of the price of a 2011 model car or truck. And, when you choose an expert mobile electronics shop, they can even make certain the installation looks perfect, too. With custom installation options ranging from custom dashes to hidden iPod integration docks to upholstery, enclosures, and even lighting, you can get both the look and the performance you want for your new system.

So why let the mobile technology revolution pass you by? Aftermarket car electronics offer a great way to get the latest and greatest for your ride–without having to break the bank. So whether you’re in the market for an aftermarket cruise control or an in-dash navigation system, your local mobile electronics professionals can help.

Winter in upstate New York can be a real pain: from the hassles of snow storms to the bitter cold, driving in the winter can be stressful and uncomfortable. But you can do something to alleviate winter driving woes-install a remote starter on your car today and get on the road to convenient, comfortable driving all year round.

Remote car starters enable you to turn on your engine from anywhere within range. This means you don’t actually have to be in your vehicle to turn it on! Stay inside where it’s warm and let your engine heat up (and get the heaters blasting) before you even set foot outside. You can start your car from your home, office, the mall, just about anywhere. And with various ranges on the market, you can customize your remote starter to suit your needs. Many standard units have ranges of up to 1,000 feet, but some car starters can be activated by cell phone from anywhere in the world! Check with the professionals at your local car audio shop for specifics on available models.

In addition to being able to start your vehicle from a distance, remote start systems can also include convenient features such as keyless entry, trunk openers, and car alarms. The latest technology offers a two-way remote. Featuring a tiny LCD screen, this remote receives feedback from your car or truck, conveying information about starting, security features, and more.

Remote starters are available for both automatic and manual transmissions, and there are models that are compatible with just about any kind of car. So no matter what vehicle you drive, there should be a car starter that’s perfect for your needs. And, contrary to popular belief, aftermarket car starters do not void your vehicle’s warranty. Under federal law (Magneson/Moss Warranty Repair Act) your warranty will still be valid after a car starter is installed.

Remember, remote starters are also great for the heat of summer. If you hate the steamy, intense heat of your vehicle on hot August days, a remote start can help you get your car cooled down before you even get in. So stop sweating–call your car audio shop today for information about sales and installation!

Would you like to have a lot of fun, save money, and go green all at the same time? You can, and it’s easy. Just join the growing numbers of Americans riding scooters and motorcycles.

Perhaps you’ve noticed the price of gasoline lately. It’s higher than $4 a gallon in some places, below that in others. For convenience we’ll do all the math that follows figuring $4 gas. You can make appropriate adjustments based on what it costs near you.

Do you drive a Luxobarge Deluxe in the four-wheel category? Getting, what, 21 miles per gallon? Or maybe you have a more efficient car that gets 34 mpg. Let’s use 30 mpg for calculations, again for convenience. So every mile you drive costs you 13.3 cents in gas alone.

How would that change if you rode a motorcycle? Well, for starters, a 600cc bike like the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic, a V-Twin, runs about 55 mpg. At $4 a gallon for gas, that comes to 7.27 cents per mile. Or let’s put it this way: for every 100 miles you ride on your Vulcan vs. driving your car, you would save $6.03. Now, you wouldn’t be riding the bike all the time. Winter is an issue, and it can also be difficult to bring home a family’s worth of groceries on a motorcycle. So let’s say you ride the bike to work, a round-trip of 20 miles, four days a week. Then figure you do that nine months out of the year, for a total of 3,120 miles. You’ve just saved nearly $190.

Now let’s look at a smaller bike, say a Star Motorcycles V-Star 250. Now we’re talking around 78 mpg. At $4 per gallon you cover a mile for all of 5.13 cents, so now you’re saving almost $255 on those commutes alone.

Of course, any other driving that you take the bike instead will only increase your savings. How much you save is up to you. But the point is, once you have the bike you’ll want to take it rather than the car as much as you can, because it’s fun. Motorcycles are fun. That’s a big part of why people ride them. In your car your commute is generally just wasted time. If there were any way to get to work without having to actually spend all that time on the road you’d probably jump at it.

Riding your motorcycle to work is a whole other thing. “Hot dog,” you think, “time to go for a ride. Even if it is to work.” Of course you may find that you’re not saving quite so much money because the element of fun may seduce you into taking a longer route. It’s a hazard we motorcyclists live with. Don’t spend too much time working up pity for us.

And finally, there’s the element of going green. It’s pretty obvious that if you’re burning less gasoline you’re doing the environment a favor. There are environmental costs of extracting the oil, refining it, storing it, and shipping it, as well as of burning it. Burn less and you cut back on them all.

But there’s a lot more than gas involved in going green. Motorcycles also use less steel and plastic and other materials to manufacture. Each of those products has its own supply chain so there are savings there as well. Granted, if you still have to own a car and then also own a motorcycle, you are using more resources, not less. But the more you ride rather than drive, the longer your car lasts. That’s the big resource consumer, so if you can double its lifespan the savings come to a lot more than the resources used to build the bike.

A lot of people prefer motorcycles his or her main mode of transportation because of the convenience in dimensions, ease of maintenance, cheap it’s relatively cheaper than having a car. Furthermore, owners do not need to be worried about getting stuck in traffic constantly because they can just squeeze their way through small passageways-something that the smallest car could not do. But what goes on if you need to make use of your motorcycle to transport your friends or your family? How will you let a minimum of 2 adults sit behind you without worrying about falling or toppling over?

Additional seats

Don’t worry since there are such things as motorcycle sidecars that you could affix to your motorcycle’s side to turn it into a tricycle. The motorcycle sidecar is a vehicle with one wheel and, when mounted on your motorcycle, it allows more room for passengers to ride along with you. In addition to that, you can also utilize it to transport cargo. Some sidecars also have a rear trunk where you can put your things. A rooftop, windshield, and door can also be included with the sidecar.

Choose your sidecar

Motorcycle sidecars are available in fiberglass and steel varieties. Both have great loading capacities and fix to some motorcycle with 4 bolts. For something durable and strong, steel is a great choice. You may also use it if you need to go through rough terrains or be put through the toughest riding conditions. Steel sidecars in addition have a big loading capacity and you will match their styles and colors with your motorcycle. They are able to also come with a locking trunk, rubber floor mat, windshield, along with a luggage rack.

However may be the fiberglass sidecar also is durable but more stylish. Additionally, it may accommodate varying loads and comes with an external gas tank, locking trunk, crumble zone, along with a windshield. Fiberglass motorcycle sidecars will also be designed with safety features including a lockable door and a seatbelt, which makes them ideal for taking passengers for a ride.

Cool car accessories no more are just capabilities and options that are only accessible on high-end luxury cars. Typically, capabilities may be added for a great deal of profit comparison to simply being the additional part, separate from the vehicle total package when you drive from the dealer. Sure it’s easy to just custom order your vehicle with all the nifty features and accessories you want on your car in the dealership, but every accessory accumulates and before you know it, you’re a minimum of 10 grand over budget. Reasonably priced add-ons could be put into your existing vehicle, saving you money on buying a new car with all the features you would like onto it. By doing this, you can turn your older vehicle right into a more enjoyable and safer ride. Read on to explore our top coolest and inexpensive car accessories.

One additional accessory you need to install in your car is a few kind of Navigation. Sure, these include our smart phones, however it doesn’t rival GPS navigation systems which are plugged into you’re cars system, integrated with a sizable screen so you can see where you are going, with both hands on the wheel, not fussing together with your Smartphone. For all those thrifty consumers, you are able to decide to get Wi-Fi included or no Wi-Fi, which may save you around ten to fifteen dollars per month.

The following cool and affordable accessory we recommend are Bluetooth speakerphones, which could cost you as little as $100 in comparison to $1000 in the dealership. This gadget will make your trip a great deal safer allowing you to talking and connect in your phone, stream music, or whatever you need to access on your phone through a wireless speaker that you can clip to your visor or clip in in your dashboard.

Another feature that can make your driving experience safer and simpler to manage is rearview cameras. There are lots of hidden dangers and spots that are hard to see behind you. Backing up can now be an easier more smooth process with the installation of rearview cameras, which are attached wirelessly for your license plate, while a relevant video is displayed on your dashboard.

Another upgrade you should look at are high performance headlights. As these bulbs grow dimmer with time, it’s wise for the safety and driving ease to alter them out. Some halogen bulbs cost less than $40 and may greatly increase your nighttime driving experience and increase visibility. Lastly, on some long-distance drives, or for families with kids, an excellent accessory that’s also affordable is installing a couple TV monitors or perhaps a small video entertainment system. DVD players and TV monitors can cost less than $200 in comparison to all out luxurious systems that can run over a great.

If you have never learnt to ride then selecting a riding school for your child can feel complicated.

First and foremost, most of your focus should be on finding somewhere safe. Horses are animals and therefore unpredictable. If you’re naturally cautious about horses than the is going to be an advantage when choosing a safe and secure environment for the budding equestrian to flourish.

The first step – Getting a Riding School

It is always worth asking other parents if they know of a riding school they’d recommend. Should their suggestion pass the rest of the criteria then you may discover that travelling to and in the stables could be shared, or at the very least you will have someone to speak with throughout the lesson.

Sometimes well meaning friends may offer to show your child on the pony but please decline, politely but firmly. The perfect riding school pony is a specialised animal and whilst the friend’s pony may be perfect for their child’s standard of riding wouldn’t be safe for your child to understand on. Can you claim that a newcomer car driver learn to drive inside a sports vehicle?

It is possible the school nearest to you is going to be satisfactory but please not choose a riding school based purely on its convenient location.

Most countries possess a regulatory body and you should never consider anywhere that is not licensed or approved by them. In the united kingdom this is the British Horse Society or even the Association of British Riding Schools. After that you can be confident of at least basic standards of safety and teaching proficiency.

Once you have a shortlist of possible riding schools then its time for you to start interviewing them.

Second step – First Impressions

Your first contact with a riding school will probably be on the phone. Do not book a lesson but do arrange to visit the yard. I recommend you do not tell your children regarding your planned visit. In the child’s mind the school will be perfect purely because they have horses and you do not want to disappoint them or feel pressured into booking lessons. The probability is that the child continues to be nagging you for lessons for a while, so I’m certain you will cope with another week or so.

First impressions are not everything but bear in mind that a successful riding school is a business and should therefore be professional in most their dealings. As it is possible the phone may be answered by someone who sounds impossibly young, they ought to be polite making arrangements for any more senior employee to phone you.

You have to always believe you are a valued client and never an annoyance. An expertly run riding school will be pleased to answer all your questions entirely. They should also be more than happy for you to go and watch a lesson. It is possible there is going to be certain times that you may not drop in but this is to be expected. Both staff and ponies work very hard inside a riding school and thus their ‘quiet time’ should be respected.

Third step – The Inspection

It can be tempting to select a riding school in exactly the same like a hotel. Pristine paintwork and hanging baskets may look attractive but don’t prove the conventional from the yard. More essential than window dressing is definitely an impression of peace and an ordered environment. If you will find tools left available, or children playing around shouting then please return inside your car.

You should easily be able to find work or someone should quickly invite you in and show you to it. Don’t expect pristine carpets and luxury armchairs but it’s as well to discover whether refreshments for waiting parents are available.

If any safety equipment for example riding hats or boots is available for hire then you can begin to see the kind of standard available. Quite rightly, many schools insist upon you providing your child using their own hat and boots before their first lesson. Should you consider the price of a riding hat against the value of your child’s head then I am certain that you will agree that this is a worthwhile investment, even when your child’s enthusiasm wanes after only several lessons. The good news is that children’s heads have done most of their growing through the chronilogical age of 8 so their riding hat should last a little while.

If your riding school does not insist on a riding helmet and proper footwear then that tells you all that you should know about their attitude for your child’s safety.

Fourth step – The Lesson

It is a peculiarity of riding schools that usually probably the most novice riders are taught through the most junior of instructors. It is extremely entirely possible that a very young employee might have had many years of experience but watch they have the respect of the pupils and have the ability to maintain order. If you are not happy then ask whether there are more more senior instructors can be found. It is well worth make payment on expense for that special care at this most vulnerable stage inside your child’s riding career.
